Listen: Todd Kessler - 'The Letter' (Single)

Singer Songwriter Todd Kessler releases 'The Letter', the second track taken from his upcoming album, 'About Memory'.
I'm not usually a fan of Americana influenced folk music, however Todd Kessler's 'The Letter' steers clear of twangy arrangements. Instead, it focuses on subtle cinematic flourishes, hypnotic, foot stomping percussion and dusty guitar work  - a combination which  provides a vintage, earthy feel to the song, reminding me of a traveler on the road telling his story from town to town.

Influenced by artists like Fleetwood Mac, Ryan Adams and David Gray - engaging and rich storytelling is at the heart of his music, delivered via a country-tinged vocal that pleasantly reveals its full timbre on the catchy chorus. With its timeless swagger and singalong appeal, 'The Letter' is a stylish, rootsy song that is irresistible in its entirety.
