East London punk rockers False Heads are back with swaggering rock n' roll  release, 'Thick Skin', so we took the opportunity to chat with the band about the ideas behind the single and accompanying music video. Check out the video and interview below!

The Band Explains:
Where was the video filmed?
Parts were filmed in a caravan site/storage site where we rehearse, part of it was filmed in the back of a van and parts of it were filmed somewhere in Essex but I'm not exactly sure where that was haha we just followed the leader.

How does the video compliment the song?
I think the video compliments the song well, the song is me ranting really about people being stuck in their stupid ways, being closed minded and also people being obsessed with censorship and banning things that they find offensive. So I guess the idea behind the video was like sort of a literal view of that idea of being trapped and not being able to escape that bullshit because of where you're from, people you hang around with, cliques, religion, nationalism, political correctness etc etc so the idea of being grabbed, captured and forced to play was just sort of based around the idea of people not being able to think for themselves because they're stuck around the same people with the same viewpoint as them all the time and don't let anyone else challenge that viewpoint.

Any behind the scenes stories?

Rope hurts, fuck being a hostage.

Tell us about the ideas/ themes/ imagery used?
Ah I did this in our last interview didn't I haha pretty much answered this question in number two. All the stuff that that I said in question two, and also it was meant to be kinda funny as well, we obviously didn't take it too seriously, but then the song has some a lot of sarcasm in it as well so yeah maybe that was intentional as well. I guess the imagery of being tied together by one hand trying to play whilst on those crooked crates is nice. Sort of like the idea that you're so insistent on your worldview being right and you're so tightly surrounded by people that never challenge it that it can take one thing to slip out from underneath you to shatter what you believe in. I guess that's a pop at religion haha

What is the message the video is trying to convey?
Think for yourself you fuckers. Oh and avoid men with tights covering their faces.
